Invading Stryker's Akalai Lake hideout, Wolverine encounters the room where Stryker applied the adamantium skeleton to Wolverine's body. There are two pools of bubbling hot liquid adamantium, each with hoses attached and a tank of water next to that.
Stryker walks in with Deathstrike and explains that if get raw adamantium "you gotta keep it hot, because once it cools, it's indestructible." But then Wolvie already knows that. Stryker soon leaves, but not before saying:
"I used to think you were one of a kind, Wolverine. I was wrong."
And so the battle begins. Deathstrike and Wolverine both extend their claws. Deathstrike attacks with graceful martial arts; Wolverine more like an animal. Early on, after slashing her across the face, Wolverine strikes both sets of claws into Deathstrike. She's in pain, but then the scars on her face heal like Wolverine. Deathstrike eventually pushes out Wolverine's claws by pressing against his chest. The brawl continues and Deathstrike throws Wolverine onto a platform suspened on top of the water tank. Deathstrike jumps underneath and starts to stab Wolverine in the back with her claws/nails. Wolverine slices through the chains holding up the platform sending it plummeting into the tank, where sparks fly (presumably meaning it was connected to electrical equipment, so Deathstrike is electricuted). The fight over, Wolverine writhes in agony as we cut to other matters.
When we return, Wolverine is still lying on the platform. Deathstrike suddenly explodes out the tank and stabs Wolverine in the back. Wolverine starts reaching for one the hoses, which he eventually does and plunges it into Deathstrike's abdomen. The two share glances (Deathstrike loking surprised and innocent, as if Styker's control over her has lost it's effect), before she convulses and adamantium starts to leak out her eyes, eyes, nose etc. Wolverine releases the hose, and she falls to the bottom of the water tank, with the hardened metal in her body producing a thud as it hits the bottom.
