Bond has just returned from Switzerland with a suitcase full of King's case. This was meant to be ransom money for the release of his daughter, Elektra (q.v.)

Like all good plutocrats, Kings top priority is to be reunited with his money so he can count it. Unfortunately for King though, the money has been spiked with explosives, and when his electro transmitting pin comes within touching distance of the cash, it detonates, killing King and causing a rather nasty dint in the MI6 building.
