Cleon was the leader of the Warriors, taking his group of 9 (including himself) to the big conclave of gangs in the Bronx, called by Cyrus, leader of the Gramercy Riffs. There's a general truce, so no fighting, and no weapons.

Luther, a member of the Rogues, ignored this, blew Cyrus away and the cops came to break up the party.

Luther (played by the excellent David Patrick Kelly [See SULLY] in his first movie role) blames Cleon. Luther pounces but Cleon gets thrown, and then proceeds to come up behind him, only to get elbowed. One of Luther's Rogues then has a go at Cleon, but gets his face smashed.

Then the Riffs came in, very miffed about their leaders' death. A single member jumps into the fray and kicks Cleon across the face, sending him reeling and stumbling backwards into the arms of a crowd of angry Riffs.

The Riffs proceeded to swarm over Cleon and elbow him into oblivion. As per usual with most mob death scenes, the death itself is not actually seen.

A bit unsatisfying for a character that was pretty cool, considering how little screen time he got.
