V leaves Evey with the means to blow up parliament, then goes to complete his final, personal revenge against Chancellor Adam Sutler (q.v.) and Mr. Creedy. He gets Creedy to kill Sutler, and then threatens Creedy and the soldiers present. The soldiers open fire, but V doesn't die. He survived because he was wearing a metal breastplate, an homage to Clint Eastwood in a Fistful of Dollars, but is badly injured. He is fit enough though to kill all of the soldiers with his knives, and strangle Creedy before staggering back into the subway with his last bit of energy, where he dies in Evey’s arms.

To say he goes out with a bang is an understatement, as Evey puts him in the Tube train packed with explosives, which is destined for blowing up the Houses of Parliament.

The date of the film is listed at 2005, but the movie came out in march 2006, i believe.
The date of the film is listed at 2005, but the movie came out in march 2006, i believe.
Correct. We need a fix on this.

we usually use the information off of the most reliable source, IMDB, if there is a disagreement. I have changed it to 2006.
Comment 4 by 'Matt' (reply to this comment)
You forgot to change it for Sutler.

Since he was the final guy to fire his gun into V, I think Peter Creedy ought to be credited as his killer personally.

Having seen the film agaiin, I'd agree. V sounds noticably weakened after Creedy shoots him.

EDIT: I think Prophecy because Finch predicts what is going to happen and one of the images seen is V getting shot.

How come it's gone back to 2005? It was released in March 2006!

I thought it was sad movie death for “V” made me cry.:crying:

The novelization says that Creedy was using a more powerful gun than the troopers who likely had 9mm - probably a magnum or such, and that would have penetrated the plate.

Gunifight? V was armed with knives, not guns. Shot would be better choice here.

This death also includes possibly one of the best lines ever - certainly one requiring balls of steel to do at home:

V is facing a circle of police officers, armed with machine guns/pistols but evidently means to resist.

Chief of Secret Police:"Don't be bloody stupid, we've got guns!"

V: "No, what you have are bullets - bullets, and the hope that I am no longer standing when you have run out of them."

Cue V taking the full load into his chest. Guns stop. V still stands - police look worried.

V stands up straighter, and unsheathes his knives...

V: "My turn..."
