Most men would be highly flattered that two minxsome babes were fighting over him. Not Douglas Quaid.
Lori is about to cut the throat of Melina (following some girl on girl kung fu action), when Quaid levels a gun at her and shoots the knife from her hand. Lori, buying some time, tries to remind Quaid that they are married and he wouldnt kill her. All the while she is reaching behind her back for her gun.
Quaid is not the sharpest tool in the box, and spends a moment in deep thought (well deep thought for an Arnie character anyway). In these moments of indecision, Lori, draws her weapon and prepares to shoot Quaid. Quaid however, is the quicker.
Shooting Lori in the head, Quaid says, "consider that a divorce"*. Pure class!

Quaid gives Lori a bindi
* for the record, shooting someone in the head can not be considered divorce in any shape or form.
actually she'd be the first main villain to die.because i found this link:
thats why she is the first main villain to die.
I don't get it. Just because she is the first villain to die? Or perhaps because she is Quaid's faux-wife?
Another Drax?? God rest Movievillains.com. Pray that this site does not suffer the same fate.
What about lover?
Well that depends on one's perception of their marriage, I guess. Personally I think anything where a husband kills his wife and vice versa should be counted under Family. But Lori is presumably Quaid's fake wife and actually involved with Richter, so maybe Lover would be more appropriate.
Both work, though.
Martial Arts doesn't count for 'this' and I love Arnold's line after she's shot.
She was either his wife of sister so family of lover.
She was only pretending to be Quaid's wife, she was in fact the girlfriend or wife of Richter. Lover would count, but not Family since the marriage was a sham.
