Benny is a mutant who has sold his race out for a few dollars. In Hollywood, there is only one way to deal with this type of scum; a painful death.

While attempting to grind Quaid and Melina into puree with a rather large mining vehicle, Benny is confident enough to laugh off Quaid's attempts to hurt him with a handheld industrial drill. Quaid, however, is smarter than your average Arnie character and manages to drill through one of the oil lines controlling the vehicle.

Sitting in a paralysed vehicle, Benny is worried when he hears Quaid beginning to drill through the vehicle. Frantically looking around for where Quaid is attacking, he sees the drill bit just in time to let out a terrified scream before Quaid bores it into his body. Typically, with most Arnie films the hero has to deliver a cringe inducing pun, this time being "Screw you!!!" as the drill bit enters Benny's body.

Benni is scared when he sees the size of Quaid's drill bit

Great review but you forgot to mention that Quaid shouts "SCREW YOU" as he thrusts the drill into Paul Ince. What a cracking scene and what a wonderful film!! I Give it two red Cheeks!! FYI i met Ronny Cox (Cohagen) and he is a bloody good bloke FACT.

Hello Mr Mouseburger.

It has been some time since I posted my comment about 'Screw You!' but you have still not yet updated the Benny site - the quote remains to be seen.

Sorry, but I think it's an important feature of this scene.

Cheers,

Apologies Robbie, i thought i made this addition a couple of months ago, it must have slipped my mind. Anyway, it has been amended.

Why is it ironic? This is just another case where a traitor gets his just desserts
Comment 6 by 'Kooshmeister' (reply to this comment)
I think for the one-liner "Screw you."
Comment 7 by 'Mr. Briggs Incorporated' (reply to this comment)
But Schwarzenegger always has an ironic one-liner!

I have to say, that backstabbin' mutant really deserved a more horrible death, with more on-screen blood.
Comment 8 by 'Kooshmeister' (reply to this comment)
Obviously we feel very differently about the traitor character type in these kinds of movies, then. I felt his demise was just fine.

Well, I suppose that you are a Saint compared to me, I was p!$$ed at Benny, all those poor, horrible, mutants. I suppose it's a side effect of seeing this when I was 6, by then I expected corrupt cops, not members of your own twisted, disfigured species.
Comment 10 by 'Kooshmeister' (reply to this comment)
A saint? Hardly. I just take a different approach to characters that are enemies-from-within when I write my own stories. And, oddly, I never kill them off.

I didn't know you were a writer! (Other than once-in-a-while reviews here and at the agony booth) Are you published?
Comment 12 by 'Kooshmeister' (reply to this comment)
No, sadly. And my talent for writing doesn't really exceed beyond taking existing material and expanding upon it and/or redoing it. Basically all I do is fanfiction.

Update for Benny:

As we know, the film was trimmed of some gore to avoid an X rating. One of the things changed was Benny's death. Originally, you were supposed to see the drill coming out of his stomach, but it was "optically cropped" to remove the effect.
