Media mogul Carver's plans for getting a world exclusive have taken a bit of a knock. His stealth ship is blowing up around him and he is now about face off against James Bond.

While pointing a gun at Bond and explaining his rather intricate getaway plan, Carver does not realise that the rather large drill just behind him has been set in motion by 007.

After a brief skirmish, Bond disarms Carver and places him in front of the advancing drill.

For some reason the audience doesn't seem to mind this rather ruthless/sadistic streak in our hero, who keeps Carver in place until the last possible minute before releasing him and letting the drill chop him to bits [off camera].

They just don't seem to kill off megalomaniacs like they did in the good old days, do they?!

I hated Elliot Carver, I really wanted to see that jerk get chopped up to bits. I would've cheered!

Yep. I'd have to say so too, Alcott. Whatever could be unsatisfying about this?
Comment 3 by 'Matt' (reply to this comment)
Own Weapon, perhaps, as that was a missile owned by Carver to destroy ships.

if Elliot Carver had lived the UK and China would have annihilated each other.

Karl, why do you keep posting things like this?
Comment 6 by 'Mr. Briggs Incorporated' (reply to this comment)
My guess is that it isn't clear enough in the review.

What about "Grab Bag"?
Because Bond used the drill, which appeared unexpected.
Comment 8 by 'Blackmist' (reply to this comment)
I agree to Grab Bag. I also found it satisfying.
if Elliot Carver had lived the UK and China would have annihilated each other.
No, the Stealth ship was already under attack by then so his plan had mostly failed. Because even if the missile had fired the British and Chinese knew he was behind it, so they wouldn't have attacked each other.

How about Machinery? The drill is a machine, after all. Or even if someone wants to argue that it isn't, Bond uses machinery to activate it.
