Obi-Wan almost certainly knows he is doomed when he infiltrates the death star to allow his companions to escape. It is with a sense of world-weariness then, that he is confronted by his old Jedi student, now a Sith Lord and at the height of his powers. Lowly stormtroopers look on in awe as the two masters of the Force draw light sabers. Vader, ever a traditionalist, concedes the gravitas of the encounter and doesn't rush the moment, allowing some choice dialogue to be exchanged. In a satisfying conclusion, both parties are at once strengthened and weakened by the outcome.

"The circle is now complete. When I left you, I was but the learner. Now, *I* am the Master."

"If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine."

The review was awkwardly written and the comprehension of film seems to be at a near 7th grade level.

I find the above comment awkwardly written, and the comprehension of writing at about a 6.5 grade level.

Also though, it seems probable that Obi Wan *allows* Vader to kill him, which does seem important.

I agree. I never got a sense of "world-weariness" from Obi-Wan during that scene. Instead, I got a sense that he was just taunting Vader, holding back his true power and allowing him to live in order to keep Luke on the path. I mean, I never thought that Obi-Wan was weakened by age. Just look at the cantina scene; he lays the royal smack down on that alien dude without breaking a sweat, yet a half-machine dude whom he previously sliced open like a can of tuna is now holding him off? I don't think so. I'd like to think that Obi-Wan was paying some sort of penance for not destroying Vader back in the day, and allows himself to die by his pupil's mechanical hands in a sort of force-balancing act. An eye for an eye, so to speak.

Then again, I am the world's biggest Obi-Wan fanboy. I always look at what Obi-Wan does as being on purpose. Even getting knocked down by Maul in TPM. ^_^

Funny, I thought it was David Prowse who portrayed Darth Vader. James Earl Jones did only the voice.

Yeah, I'd put James Earl Jones (voice) / David Prowse just to be a completest.

Also, Death Star should be in capitals...
