Anakin has been sent to Mustafar to accept the surrender of the separatist generals, in reality he is going to kill them.

After a heart to heart with Obi Wan, who tells her Anakin has killed the younglings, Padme decides to head to Mustafar in order to find out the truth from Anakin. The meeting with his wife seems to have some impact on the antihero and he seems to have listened to reason.

Unbeknownst to Padme, Obi Wan had stowed on board her craft, and now he walks down the gangplank preparing to do battle with Anakin. Suspecting he has been betrayed by his wife, Anakin directs his fury at Padme. Using the force, he uses that patented Darth Vader force choke method. Padme falls in a crumpled heap, and Obi Wan and Anakin duel.

Cut to: medical centre

Padme has finally given birth to the twins. She has just about finished firing out these two bundles of joy, when her strength wanes and, after a semi-emotive monologue to Obi Wan, she dies. It was said that she died because she had lost the will to live following the betrayal of her husband more than from her physical injuries.

Perhaps "Childbirth" could be added as a category for this one?
Comment 2 by 'Mr. Briggs Incorporated' (reply to this comment)
Perhaps "Sex" on a technicality?
Comment 3 by 'Matt' (reply to this comment)
Not really. Makes you moan for a "Childbirth" category...
Comment 4 by 'DeMan' (reply to this comment)
Adding a "Childbirth" category could certainly make for an interesting icon...
Comment 5 by 'Mr. Briggs Incorporated' (reply to this comment)
How often do we see an onscreen "Childbirth" death?
Comment 6 by 'DeMan' (reply to this comment)
Well, Jennifer Lopez kicked the bucket on-screen while giving birth in "Jersey Girl." (Say what you want about Kevin Smith, but anybody who kills off J.Lo within the first 15 minutes of the movie can't be ALL bad!)

Once Anakin yelled "Liar!". I knew crap was going down.
Comment 8 by 'Andy' (reply to this comment)
I agree with Mr. Biggs, you gotta add this death to the "sex" catagory. and while you're at it see if some other hot babe deaths are added from diiferent films, because you gotta put other chick death scences!
Comment 9 by 'Mr. Briggs Inc.' (reply to this comment)
OK! Edna from Phantasm III or Sandywitch from House (1986)? grinning smiley
Comment 10 by 'Andy' (reply to this comment)
I'll pick Edna from "Phantasm 3". the hot babe death i want to see put up is Ashley and Ashlyn from "Final Destionation 3" a.k.a the "tanning bed B-BQed Babes" Anyone Else?
Comment 11 by 'Andy' (reply to this comment)
How about you put this death under the "family" catagory, because Padme is Anakin's Wife.
Comment 12 by 'Monk' (reply to this comment)
Lover, former friends?
Comment 13 by 'Bill' (reply to this comment)
Lover works better

As long as the twins survived, I'm not too fussed about this death. If she lost the twins as well, then I would have been pissed off
Comment 15 by 'Kooshmeister' (reply to this comment)
If she'd lost the twins there'd be no point to it. Anakin turning evil and Leia and Luke being born were events pretty much set in stone for this movie.

I'm probably going to regret saying this, but personally I feel that George was just looking for some excuse to off her once the twins were born. Granted I know it's possible to die if someone looses the will to live, but as a 'Robot Chicken' sketch pointed out they've got all this fancy technology and they can't do anything to keep her alive, or at least long enough to undergo serious therapy?
