Sergeant Ricco is a low-ranking Spaceball guard and navigator of Spaceball 1. Upon notifying Colonel Sandurz, Dark Helmet's right-hand man that planet Druidia has come into view, he is told to inform Dark Helmet, a small version of Darth Vader (q.v.) from Star Wars who walks down an aisle of Spaceball guards in a menacing fashion, although this effect is reasonably ruined when he flips the faceplate of his helmet up, remarking that he can't breathe and revealing that he is the nerdy looking Rick Moranis under his "dark helmet!"

However, Dark Helmet is deadlier than he seems, as when he discovers that Ricco has spoken to the Spaceball president, Skroob, without Helmet's consent, he exclaims "You went over my helmet?!".

Begging, Ricco tries to argue for his life "Well, not exactly over it, sir. More on the side. I'll always call you first. It'll never happen again. Never, ever!" he cries, but Helmet has made up his mind by this point, and he pulls his faceplate back down then puts on a cobra-like ring.

Ricco is terrified and covers his neck with his hand, wailing "Oh shit! No, no, no, no, no, please, no, no, please, no, not that.”
"YES THAT!" Helmet says, and his voice has now taken on a creepier tone as he surprisingly fires a green beam at Ricco’s crotch. Strangely, Ricco falls stiff and silent when the ordeal is over he appears to actually be dead from the ray which strikes fear into the rest of his soldiers that Dark Helmet is not to be trifled with.
