The mysterious Autumn Carnival has returned to a small town in Illinois, bearing promises of joy that are fulfilled only with misery and evil. At the center of it all is the diabolical Mr. Dark.

His wickedness is perceived by the town's librarian, who has read of Dark's previous visits to the town many years ago, and by the librarian's son. Mr. Dark is finally confronted as he prepares to claim the soul of a young boy who is overeager to learn the secrets of adulthood.

At the center of the autumn carnival is a carousel that can be run forward or backwards to move its riders forward or back in time. As he prepares to put his young victim on the ride, Dark is himself trapped on the carousel, which, suddenly struck by lightning, spins forward fast. Dark struggles to free himself as the years spin past by the hundreds or thousands, but by the time the ride slows down, he is nothing more than a pile of bones, which are carried off by a tiny carnival worker.

I saw this movie years ago, but I forgot what it was called, thank you, AAAAARRRRRRGH!, (Not even going to mention the spell-check on this one!) for bringing back these memories!

Now that the category has been added, wouldn't Time Travel apply here as well, since moving through time at an accelerated rate caused him to age rapidly into a pile of bones?
