Written by PyroThe dark fairy Maleficent takes getting overlooked on the invite list for the princess's baby shower 16 years ago (for obvious reasons that shouldn't have been lost on her) very personally. To the point she casts a curse on the princess that puts her in a coma 16 years later, and thanks to intervention from three good fairies, the spell can be broken if the princess's true love kisses her, as is the case in these fairy tales.

Maleficent is aware of this and has kidnapped Prince Phillip to prevent this from happening, but the fairies spring him out of prison and make a break for the castle. Needless to say, with the fairies covering the Prince's escape, none of Maleficent's goblin minions' attempts to stop him work, nor do the lightning bolts she tosses at them from atop her castle's tower. She then conjures a massive forest of thorny vines around the castle the princess slumbers in, and it seems to work, till the sword the Prince was given by the fairies allows him to hack his way through with little trouble, and soon enough, the castle courtyard's just up ahead.

Deciding to handle this matter personally, Maleficent flies over onto the drawbridge in front of the Prince and delivers her famous before-battle speech.

"Now you shall deal with me, oh Prince! And all the powers of Hell!" She declares as she transforms into a massive black dragon. Right from the start the fight's in Maleficent's favor as she quickly overwhelms Phillip with her fiery breath and massive size, and she drives him towards the edge of a cliff, blasting his shield from his hand. At this moment, though, the three good fairies join the fight and empower Phillip's sword, and with a magic-aided toss, Phillip sends it into Maleficent's heart. Maleficent, however, is not about to go down without one last attempt on the Prince's life, so with her last ounce of strength, she makes one final lunge at him, but narrowly misses. Her weight then causes the cliff to crumble from under her, and she dissolves into smoke. Phillip then looks down over the cliff, and all that remains is Maleficent's cloak, impaled by the sword that killed her.
