Randy was the avid horror movie buff that provided the audience and his naive friends valuable insights as to the rules of horror movie sequels.

When the killer makes a phone call to Gail's (Weathers) phone, both her and Dewey begin a search of the campus trying to find the caller.

This leaves Randy to try and keep the killer on the line. He does this quite effectively by mocking Billy Loomis (q.v.). Unfortunately as he is talking, Randy wanders by the news van that the killer is hiding in.

The door opens; Randy is grabbed, dragged inside and stabbed to death.
