The climax of the second Scream franchise is set on a stage at the college Sydney is attending. Local news reporter, Debbie Salt, turns out to be Billy Loomis's (q.v.) mother, and it is soon clear where his psychological deficiencies came from.
Following a stage fight with Sydney, involving lots of falling lights and polystyrene boulders, it appears that Mrs Loomis has been crushed to death. Of course she isn't and following a bit of dramatic tension, attacks Sydney with a knife.
They struggle for a few moments before wrongly convicted murderer, Cotton Weary, turns up and points a gun at her.
Mrs Loomis appeals to Cotton's sense of vengeance; after all it was Sydney's evidence which sent him to jail for the murder of her mother. But Cotton eventually does the right thing and blows this bitch-queen to hell (on the proviso that he and Sydney do a television show together).
Having a bad track record with people who are supposed to be dead coming back to life, Sydney makes doubly sure Mrs Loomis is dead by shooting her in the head.
I always love a good 9mm round to the skull. Very satisfying.
Yep, that Mrs. Loomis was one sick lady. Who was worse, her, her son, or Sam Loomis?
