Dynamo is another of the Stalkers in the futuristic hit game show, “The Running Man”. Like all celebrities in this game show, he has a few idiosyncrasies which set him apart from mere mortals like you or I. Dynamo is not into wearing conventional clothing whatsoever, instead preferring to wear a vest that has more flashing lights on it than a Chav’s Golf GTi and, as if this was not bad enough, he matches it off with an adult sized nappy. To complete the effect of “total freak” Dynamo also likes to drive around the game zone in a beach buggy, singing melodies from a variety of Italian operettas. Clearly this man has issues. Anyway, I digress.
The subtlety and culture of Dynamo is completely lost on an ignorant brute like Ben Richards though and, having made Dynamo crash his buggy, he walks up to the car preparing to kill the Stalker, who is lying prostrate on the ground. The crowd is eager for this to happen, but Richards appears to have a flicker of morality in that Neanderthal-like cranium of his, and spares Dynamo’s life, much to the crowds disdain. This is the last we see of Dynamo for a while, as the game show “cuts to commercials”.
He is not dead though, as is discovered later on in the film, when Amber (the film’s eye candy) manages to infiltrate backstage of the game show, only to be confronted once again by Dynamo. His pride has been massively dented earlier and, to an ego like this, revenge is necessary, so Dynamo knocks Amber to the ground and prepares to kill her.
However, Amber is a tough cookie, and with a swift kick to the love spuds, Dynamo is incapacitated once again. Amber tries to crawl away, but Dynamo manages to grab her and the pair grapple. As they wrestle with each other, Amber pulls a gun she had hidden away, but Dynamo grabs it and they struggle over the gun. Inevitably, the gun ends up discharging, and it could not have led to a worse outcome for Dynamo, as the bullet ricochets off of the overhead sprinkler, causing water to come gushing down on him.
Amber just about manages to gets away as the water in time as Dynamo’s suit of flashing lights short circuits, electrocuting him to death.
You'd think they'd tailor his suit so this wouldn't happen.
But then again, I think the show's costume designer was obviously trying to take the piss out of him in a long-running practical joke.
FINALLY! Can we expect the sex-joke guy in Predator soon?
Amber actually punched Dynamo in the jewels.
