Bobby is a member of Clarence Boddicker's (q.v.) gang, which, having just carried out a bank robbery, is being followed by Murphy (q.v.) and Lewis.

A high speed gun battle ensues, and results in Bobby getting shot in the leg. It is a minor wound and would not doubt have healed with a little bit of bed rest. Boddicker is not interested in carrying any dead wood though, and grabbing Bobby he uses him as a device to slow down the police car by throwing him into its windscreen.
