The evil Major Timothy Cain, commander of Umbrella Corporation's private security forces, is booted from a helicopter by Alice as they take off outside of the city hall where a horde of zombies is slowly converging.

The fall from the helicopter leaves Cain with a broken leg, which makes escape much more difficult. He begins shooting at the zombies with a pistol as they close in on him, but this has no effect. Among the zombie horde is Dr. Charles Ashford, who was shot dead by Cain in an earlier scene.

With the undead cannibals getting closer and closer, Cain resolves to be the master of his own destiny, and putting his pistol to his head, he squeezes the trigger....

To his dismay, Cain has expended all his bullets shooting the zombies. Cain has time to stare at the empty gun in disbelief before he is pounced upon by the zombies. With a wonderful sense of irony, Dr. Ashford takes the first bite.
