When he finds FBI Agent Will Graham staking out his place of work, killer Dolarhyde goes to the apartment of his colleague, Reba. His feelings for this blind woman are confused, and she is blissfully unaware that they are supposedly dating. As he watches from the driver's seat of his van, Dolarhyde he sees another co-worker, Ralph Mandy, appear to kiss Reba as she enters her apartment complex. A cut to the two of them reveal he is merely wiping something from her face.

Dolarhyde oozes rage at this, and heads off to meet Ralph. Once Reba has entered her apartment, Ralph goes to walk away. No sooner has he taken a few paces from door when he looks up and sees that Dolarhyde is upon him. Ralph doesn’t even have time to react as Dolarhyde shoots Ralph in the forehead with a silenced pistol, leaving a bloody red hole on his forehead.
