Will Graham has just uncovered that Francis Dolarhyde is the serial killer, The Tooth Fairy. When the police arrive at his house to arrest Dolarhyde, they find it burning to ground, and a seriously charred corpse inside the building. The corpse is in such a bad state that the police cannot make a positive identification for a few hours. It does not take a genius to work out that the killer is not dead yet!

With the help of everyone’s favourite insane cannibalistic killer, Hannibal Lector, Dolarhyde obtains the address of FBI agent Will Graham’s house. Will manages to work out what has happened, and rushes back to his house. He is a little bit too late though as Dolarhyde is standing in the bedroom with a knife against Will’s son’s throat.

Will is a great criminal profiler though, and in contrast, Dolarhyde is every psychiatrist’s wet dream; crammed to the brim with neuroses. Will plays on these insecurities when his son wets himself. Will tells off his son for being so disgusting and this berating makes Dolarhyde relive similar scenes from his own childhood. Enraged, Dolarhyde discards the child and attacks Will.

Will manages to stab Dolarhyde in the thigh and lock himself in the bedroom. Dolarhyde is in the process of punching through the flimsy door when Will’s wife Molly enters the house. Dolarhyde hides and, as she approaches the bedroom, he sneaks up behind her. Will, who is watching this, tells her to get down and both Dolarhyde and Will start firing at each other through the door.

Both characters are shot multiple times in various parts of the body and they fall to the ground. Molly tends to Will, but sees that Dolarhyde is stirring in the hallway. Molly picks up the gun, walks over to where he is lying and shoots Dolarhyde in the forehead leaving a bloody hole. Dolarhyde collapses to the floor and Molly shoots him again in the cheek and twice more in the head to finish him off for good.

Ralph Fiennes is always great in the role of villains (also in Harry Potter).
In this Movie, it was also a very intensive charakter he had to play, and he did it very well!
