Mac is distraught that his best friend, Blain (q.v.) has been killed.

After a failed attempt to catch the Predator, Mac rushes into the forest with reckless abandon. He manages to fix himself into a nice vantage point, under the log of a tree, where he can spy on the Predator, but the Predator can't see him.

As he crawls further under the log, Mac spots three red dots on his arm. Now, i am no expert on what to expect in a rainforest, but if i saw three dots on my arm, i would be highly suspicious and not consider it a normal occurrence. Mac, however, decides to poke his head out of his cubby hole to find out what is making those dots.

Has anyone guessed what it was yet? Yep, it was the Predator's laser sight. As soon as Mac engineers himself into a position where the dots appear on his forehead, the camera switches to one directly behind him, and we get a nice view of Mac's brains being blasted all over the lens.

Mac probably put his head out because, from here on in, the guy had pretty much kinda went a bit insane. He probably was so crazy at this point that he didn't think of the possibility that the three dots may have been created by the Predator.

I dunno, even Mac would have assumed those were coming off some sort of laser and would have most likely came from the Predator. It's a bit of lazy scriptwriting.

I gotta admit, listening to Dillon was a big mistake for Mac. Come on...a 'standard flanking' deployemnt on an invisible trophy hunter? No way...maybe if the Predator was human it would've worked.

Also, had they stuck together, they might have stood a chance to cap the Predator, but by splitting up, Dillon and Mac just made themselves easier prey and shorten the teams chances for survival.
