Someone should have told Rudd that no matter how much authority you have you will still get killed if...

You shoot your nemesis' best friend,
you don't even attempt to fight back or run away,
the best line you can say at that point is "diplomatic immunity," the same line you used a few million times before, that you know by this point that your nemesis is willing to go against,
you say the line in an incredibly cocky, annoying accent.

However, this makes the death all the better, as by this point, we're all reaching for our respective weapons. Seeing the cocky bratsard get his short-but-satisfying just desserts is enough to make this a feel-good film.

p.s. Should this not go under "Tempting Fate"? It says so in the death itself.
