"Machinery" (The car)
"Final Conflict" (If you take Eicholtz' suggestion)

How is it "Cheating Death" That would have been last film as he does not survive this one.
I'm pretty sure the insides of the car light on fire, ("Combustion")
"Machinery", as it is a car Westlake has under control
Again, in the category suggestion thread, Eicholtz suggested "Final Conflict" is you are interested.

You're right, I just hadn't seen Darkman II at the time I wrote up Durant's death in the first film. I tried to amend things by adding the "Cheating Death" category to his second death, but ended up botching things up.

i have made the necessary adjustments.

I am not adding machinery though, as a car, while a machine, does not kill him directly. i also think that it isn't combustion as he is blown to smithereens and does not really combust (i.e. we dont see him flapping around aflame).

I have no idea what "final conflict" is about, seems more like a situation to me than a death type. maybe Mr Eichholtz will explain his reasoning.

Darkman uses Durant's own locks against him, as Durant could have easily jumped out otherwise. The flames were more of a finisher. As for "Final Conflict" we have similar death types, ("Master/Pupil" "Chase") (although I don't know if this is what Eicholtz meant)
