Star Wars Episode IV : A New Hope: Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing)

Comments for death : Star Wars Episode IV : A New Hope: Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing).

Peter Cushing's finest death scene, as far as I'm concerned, not to mention his very best villainous character.

Again, Tarkin seems to be isolated from the other 'New Hope' reviews.

Grand Moff? What the Hell is that? I never heard Grand Moff in the entire movie. In fact Leia called him Governor Tarkin. His name is Governor Tarkin, not Grand Moff.

"Grand Moff" is what he's called in the film credits and novelization. It's a fictional title. "Moff" is an Imperial word meaning governor, more or less. So his title is basically "Grand Governor."

Anyone with even a base knowledge of Star Wars knows he's called Grand Moff Tarkin in the credits, book, comics, toys, games, etc. (Not as well-known is his first name, Wilhuff.)
