This death always ticked me off in some small way. I can suspend my disbelief to hold that an assault rifle can hold 350 rounds in a magazine, and I can see how a person can take four jagged spikes to the chest and still live for five minutes, and I can even go as far as believing such a race of interstellar insects can pose an intergalactic threat to humanity, but come on! Consuming brain matter to extract memories and intelligence is about a ludicrous as consuming Arnold Schwarzenegger to bulk up. It just don't work that way.

But it's based on a pulp sci-fi novel, so in that context is perfectly acceptable!

Just one of those "love it, or hate it" films! I LOVE it!!!

Book is great too!

It could be that, upon the deployment of the proboscis, it's actually scanning the delicate structure of the neurons of the brain and the elecro-chemical patterns therein. This would grant it a knowledge of the neural structure, which is theoretically predicated upon the experiences and patterns of thinking of the individual.

Then it eats the brain for nourishment.

See? It works!

There are things in nature than can eat each other and gain the memories of the worm that it eats. They are called planarian worms. Look it up moron.

Well since the experimental result cannot be reproduced double-blindly thereafter, it's very likely due to observational bias.
This is what most of the people in the scientific community conceive too. -> doi:10.1037/0003-066X.51.6.589
So stop stinking up the discussion by calling others moron or you might embarrass yourself.
thats a terrible analogy! Inside your DNA are chromosomes that contain all your ancestors memories (from when they procreated) and resultant lessons and memories which give u your instincts and thought patterns. U can break the cycle or go along with it unwittingly. And when u consume things
Up your nose with a rubber hose
