Acid doesn't burn through metal. I've tried. Just don't work.[/bgcolor]

It depends how acidic the acid is. The lower numbers with higher concentrations probably will.

Not as fast as in "Dante's"!
They would have had to slaughter a thousand Giger Aliens and use the blood to fill up the lake

As soon as I noticed there was a pointless category I hoped somebody had added this beauty, and thankfully somebody had. smiling smiley This has to be the single most pointless death I've ever witnessed on film.

Also interesting to note for this death.

Just before Ruth does die you see Harry carrying her across his back, you clearly see that she's wearing shoes, yet two seconds later the camera pans down her legs and you see that the acid removed everything below the kneecap.

Not even the film crew appear to have really cared about this death all that much -- they couldn't be bothered to try and fix such a blatant error.
HAHAH - I noticed that too, thanks to TIVO - "OK, she has shoes and pants on while Harry is carrying her but then....did they just fall off when he laid her down? Where's those legs go???"

That is where you're wrong RolandDeschain. It's a universal fact in Hollywood that in every movie/book/videogame/TV show directed towards a mature audience (at least some of the time) must have a lovable character die at some point, especially when their death just seems so unfair because they're so lovable. What happened to Dumbledore in the Harry Potter book the Half-Blood Prince? What happened at the end of Obi-Wan and Darth Vader's duel in the original Star Wars? Ever play Kingdom Hearts 2? Watch/read/play any of those things from start to finish and you'll se my point.
