nah, i think false alarm is more about when something is supposed to happen i.e. the soundtrack suggests tension and then we see something fluffy and cute instead. Then as the audience relaxes the monster attacks. There is no better example of this than Blain in Predator

Wasn't much of a fall as I remember, though it could be significant that the Phantom was not actually forced down into the water if that is what you mean.
