Other deaths that appear in the extended edition only are Gothmog and the Mouth Of Sauron.

If you actually watch the movie, Saruman is never killed. After the Ents break the dam and flood the place, he remains locked in the tower. When Gimli asks if they should take his head and be done with it, Gandalf replies with a stern "No", only because Saruman has no power anymore. He wasn't a danger to anyone in the 3rd movie.

Did you even read the review? We're talking about the four-hour extended edition.

I wish they could include the "Saruman takes over the Shire" part and the death of Saruman that goes with it, but even I understand that 4 hours of film and as many natural end points to it is pushing the limit...
One of the earlier posts stated that Lieutenant Gothmog and the Mouth of Sauron are the only other deaths that appear in the Extended Edition but that is not true. Our buddy Grima also kicks the bucket. When he decided to kill Saruman, the evil wizard was about to reveal some info to our heroes prompting Legolas to fill Wormtongue's back with arrows. Grima finishes off Saruman before dying of his wounds himself.
