Ricco is very much alive after having his privates zapped. He's still whimpering in pain as the Ping Pongs (Stormtrooper guys) lift him up and carry him off, and indeed he's seen on the bridge later, but only in widescreen: when Dark Helmet demands to know, "How many Assholes we got on this ship anyhow?" Ricco is the only one who doesn't go "Yo!", seeing as how his surname was already established.

Interesting, Hm, Old Mr. MouseBluffer could probably take it off if it's really bothersome, but I was under the impression that somehow the beam killed him (testicular cancer maybe? would that count as "Radiation" then?) Maybe Ricco's a clone!
