A few points,

1. This is more of a deathtrap than wrath of the gods as it seems the ancient pressure-sensor is a man made trap way before it's time.

2. I'm pretty sure Indy utters "Adios estupido" as he escapes.

3. The previous comment (Indy saying the same thing that the guide says to him) appears to be the only thing that's truly "ironic" about this, unless you're referring to the fact that the guide needed Jones to guide him and without him would be lost, everything else falls under "Tempting Fate" for Karma and all that junk
Well I dunno about what Indy says upon discovering his impaled head, but the character's name is indeed Satipo according to the credits.
What is it about this guy Alfred Molina?
In Raiders he gets impaled with spikes through the head.
In Ladyhawke he gets implaled with spikes through the head from a wolf-trap.
Do I see a trend developing here?

heh, he manages to buck the trend quite spectacularly in the film Species though.
I was watching Raiders today and reviewed what Indy said as he regarded the dead alfred Molina.

I hope that helps settle the confusion.

He actually says'Adios,''SaPITO''.
Ford transposed 2 letters of the guy's name.

I hope that helps settle the confusion.

Aha. That settles that, I heard from a perhaps reliable source, but I guess it was wrong, what about the other points though?
I rewound the tape 2 0r 3 times to be sure.
It was definitely a flub on Harrison's part.
