Shouldn't this go under suicide? As I recall, Nomak killed himself.

Also, minor gripe but his first name is Jared/Jarrod/some alternate spelling thereof. I'm just a pusher for listing characters under their full known names.

I agree with you Kooshmeister, i like to use their full names too - he is however listed on IMDB as Nomak, which is where i go for any queries regarding name spellings - it is the closest place on the web we have to a definitive source.

wrt suicide category, i will take your word for it, it is some time since i watched Blade II and cant recall the death that well. I much preferred the first installment to the trilogy; the other two films were much weaker in IMO.

You've done a great write-up man, but just on the suicide point raised, what happens is:

Nomak is practically invulnerable to everything except sunlight and silver piercing his heart. A Reaper heart, though, is covered with an armoured carapace that almost totally removes this option. This was shown earlier in the film when they dissect a Reaper.

So when Blade stabs Nomak in that last moment, he fails. He only barely pierces the barrier around Nomak's heart, and doesn't cause any real damage. In that moment, though, Nomak realises what a monster he truly is, and decides that non-existence would be preferable to his new "life". He remarks, killing himself, that "it hurts no more."

Thanks for that James, I've added your explanation to the main review.
