The 6th Day?

The 6th Day is a film filled with some interesting deaths, but because it deals with bringing people back to life via cloning, this means that certain characters (particularly Michael Drucker's minions) are killed in different ways by different people.

For instance, Wiley, one of the minions, dies approximately three times in the film:

1. He is run over twice during the car chase, once by Adam Gibson (the hero) and then again by Robert Marshall (the boss goon).
2. After being resurrected, Adam breaks his neck, killing him a second time.
3. Towards the end, following Wiley's second resurrection, he dies a third and final time when Drucker shoots him for incompetence.

Similarly, Marshall himself is killed twice, and Talia three times, and both of them are killed by Adam each time, except for Talia's first time when Wiley shoots her accidentally. If The 6th Day is submitted, how does one handle this using the site's submission form? Like, should Drucker be listed as the one that actually kills Wiley because this actually disposes of Wiley for good?

Btw here is a total list of the onscreen deaths in the film, besides Wiley, and who is killed by who:

Robert Marshall:
1. Adam shoots off his foot in the parking garage, and although this is not immediately fatal, the next time we see Marshall he has both feet so I guess he died and got cloned. Dismemberment?
2. He drowns when the fluid tank in the lab breaks open thanks to Talia's wild firing while she's being choked by Gibson, and he buried beneath a tidal wave of "blank" clone bodies. Although it's Talia's shot that ruptures the tank, Adam is the instigator of this (see below). Drowning.

Talia Elsworth:
1. During the car chase, Wiley accidentally shoots her and she falls out of the car. She is then resurrected. Shot.
2. During the shootout in the parking garage, she has the fingers on one hand shot off by Adam, who then breaks her neck. Is there a category for broken neck? I guess this could also go under "dismemberment," because of the fingers.
3. At the end, she's walking on a scaffold above the fluid tank and Adam grabs her ankles, causing her to fall off and become entangled by some handy wires in such a way that she essentially hangs. Definitely strangulation.

Michael Drucker:
1. Drucker's first death is shown in a flashback only. He was shot by Tripp, a radical anti-cloning activist. Shot.
2. He's accidentally shot by Wiley, who he then kills, and he subsequently dies of bloodloss, but not before he manages to whip up a partially completed clone of himself. Shot.
3. The still somewhat gooey Drucker dies during a shootout with the two Adams, when trying to avoid the spinning blades of a hover-copter vehicle (these have actual names but I honestly forget what they are), he jumps down onto a skylight, which gives way beneath him, causing him to plummet to his doom. Falling.

Vincent:
1. This is the only one of Drucker's henchmen who we see die only once. Adam shoots him while he is guarding Adam's captive wife and daughter. Shot.

Tripp:
1. He's shot by Adam with his own gun, but escapes and almost gets away in his Volkswagon before crashing because he's losing blood. He then spills his guts to Adam before ultimately shooting himself in the head. Shot, own weapon, and suicide. Maybe crash?

Dr. Griffin Weir:
1. This is the scientist who developed the whole cloning process. Drucker decides to shoot him for rebelling against him. Former friends, head shot.

Hank Morgan:
1. Adam's friend. The first time Hank dies is actually shown in a flashback after his death, and he's shot by Tripp. Shot.
2. After being resurrected via cloning, poor Hank dies a second time, once again at the hands of Tripp. Shot, again.

Johnny Phoenix:
1. A football player who plays for a team owned by Drucker. He gets his neck broken upon being tackled. Accidental, broken neck if there's a category for it. (Johnny's second death is actually never shown, but after he's resurrected Weir discovers he has cancer and will only live a few more years).

Excluding anonymous henchmen types I think that's everybody.

Do they remember their previous deaths?
If so, I'd be tempted to lump all the deaths together along with the "resurrection" category.
Mouse is the Arnie expert though so I'm sure he has an opinion... smiling smiley

This is a good point, and one that crops up from time to time. It is similar to the Freddy Kruger issue, where the character is already dead, and gets killed time and again only to reappear in the next film. With Freddy i think it is made easier as there is a different film for him to be killed in, which separates the deaths nicely.

wrt 6th Day, we could lump them all together, but then we get messy sets of categorisations. I think it might be best to keep them all separate and number them. This way each death gets a decent writeup, and the deaths are treated independantly for statistical purposes. So, when submitting, i would use:

Robert Marshall #1 - Adam shoots off his foot in the parking garage, and although this is not immediately fatal, the next time we see Marshall he has both feet so I guess he died and got cloned. Dismemberment?

Robert Marshall #2
- He drowns when the fluid tank in the lab breaks open thanks to Talia's wild firing while she's being choked by Gibson, and he buried beneath a tidal wave of "blank" clone bodies. Although it's Talia's shot that ruptures the tank, Adam is the instigator of this (see below). Drowning.

what i am amazed at is that i have not added 6th day to the list already!
