Is it time to bid farewell to this site?
January 08, 2011 03:15PM
Now I love this site and I don't want it to go but it's been almost a full year since the last time something has been added to the database proper and although OB and Mouseburger are known for their long dry spells, this is especially long. I don't want to see this pretty good site go but I want to know if anyone else thinks that it's finished. :crying:
Heck no! I have seen websites go through doldrums only to get a second wind. Please keep this going!

Cannot anyone contact the site administrators? At least a short update would be appreciated.
NO! Don't let come to that! Otherwise I'll have spent the last few weeks uploading Resident Evil deaths for nothing! ;_;

No way! Plenty of websites have gone quiescent for a while, then revived. This is a fun site to visit - and update. :thumbsup:
If this site is doomed to go under, does anybody know of any sites similar to this one?

Seriously, WTF? An update would be appreciated sometime before the end of this decade, OB and MB; pretty please?

Despite the similar name, that wasn't me >.>

Nope, it was me; sorry. My original name was "B.R.", but I lost my password for this site, and since it's no longer running, I can't get a new one and nor can I post under my name. Where the owners anyway? Did they just disappear?
Since this site has been seemingly abandoned by its administrators, I have been thinking about starting up a new movie deaths website, perhaps a wiki page since anyone can contribute to them without having to wait on admins to approve their content. Unless of course such a wiki page already exists and I'm not aware of it. Thoughts?
It's a real shame, considering the time put in by contributors. I only supplied the four deaths of Nosferatu (under my pseudonym RolandDeschain) but it'll be a pity to see the writeup and the screenshots disappear due to the site's imminent death.

I'd be more than happy to host and help manage a replacement, but there really has to be an effort put forth to save what's already been done here.

My public email is chrisgray.name at gmail dot com. If anybody is seriously interest let me know via that.

I'm assuming this is being kept alive by either Boggler or somebody else who is just keeping it going to rake in a dwindling amount of advertising revenue. I can't blame them, but it's terrible to lose this much work from people volunteering their time. Both hosting and domain renewal is being paid by somebody, so there's somebody still footing the (albeit small) bill.
I've actually started up a wiki page for documenting movie deaths, which I was inspired to do after seeing the sheer lack of activity here.

Bumped so people might actually notice it amid all the ads flooding this forum.
