While I was writing up the death for Peter Yarbro in Creepshow, I realized that his death is only seen in a brief flashback. Similarly, Bedelia's murder of her father Nathan is also only shown in flashback. So I was wondering whether or not we could ever have a "
Flashback" category?
Similarly, there are two instances later on in the film, during the segment "The Crate," wherein Henry Northrup fantasizes about killing his mean wife Wilma, first by shooting her and then by strangling her, before he finally feeds her to the crate monster for real. There must be other movies in which death scenes are played out as pure fantasies of the characters (another that comes to mind is Harold shooting the corrupt policeman during his Burgerland fantasy sequence in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, and Samuel getting "eaten" by the praying mantis in his dream sequence in Nine Months). So, how does everyone propose we handle death scenes that exist only in the minds of other characters?
