Father Brennan is the priest who tries to warn the ambassador that his son is in fact the antichrist. The ambassador completely disbelieves his claims, despite Brennan having some pretty powerful circumstantial evidence, and leaves the priest.

All alone, the priest is suddenly buffeted around by an ill wind - the audience knows this is an ill wind by the incredibly haunting Gregorian chanting on the soundtrack. He heads for the nearest church, seeking sanctity, but rather metaphorically, the church is closed in his hour of need.

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning strikes the metal spire of the church and shears it off. Father Brennan has time to put his hands in front of his face before this metal javelin spears into his body, killing him.
