Prologue: Bond, having thwarted the latest attempt at world domination by some madman, is chasing after his latest bit of fluff, who has been kidnapped by the main villain, Kamal Khan.
Bond manages to cling on to the quickly ascending aircraft and, using his feet, manages to break the wing rudder in the downwards position, thus forcing the plane to descend. Not bad for a fellow hanging on to a plane at 20000 feet without any parachute!
As the plane nears the ground, he manages to get inside the aircraft, drag his love interest out and they both manage roll to a stop at the edge of a cliff.
Khan is less fortunate. Trying to control the plane, he realises that the approaching cliff is really not going to move out of the way, and he has just enough [screen] time to shield his eyes from the view before his death.
Man, I was really dispointted with this death! Bond didn't even try to kill him- he just crashed himself. Truely unsatisfying.
I believe he did pull a fuel line out, avoids a bit of conflict
EDIT: Mm-hmm, the wing rudder
Yeah, he disabled one of the engines, and then pushed the rudder down with his feet, forcing Khan to land. Although his main concern was getting Octopussy, so I doubt he specifically intended to kill Khan, at least at that point.
My problem with this death is Khan's rather ho-hum reaction to his own death. I've never seen a less enthusiastic "Aahhhh!" face.
I dislike this death. I think it should get the "Unsastisfying" category. Khan is undoubtedly the most timid Bond villain ever. Why?
The thing that sets Khan apart is that every Bond villain, even the weak-as-Hell Dominic Greene in QoS, finally decides to get their hands together and (futilely) try to kick some British ass. Khan didn't do jack squat. Definately unsastisfying.
Probably because the real villain was Orlov. Of course, he had a surprisingly wimpy death, too.
True. Orlov was the mastermind but Khan was the main antagonist. Bond was really going up against Khan (sort of like in Thunderball, Blofeld's the main bad guy but Bond's going up against Largo). Still I was disappointed by Khan's death and how little he actually did to try to get rid of Bond (seriously he didn't even attempt to barrel roll).
