Gobinda has already announced how tough he is by crushing some backgammon dice earlier in the film.

Therefore we are not surprised when he reluctantly agrees to climb out of the plane, mid air to duel with Bond. What is most impressive is that his turban does not flutter one bit in all that turbulence!

Bond is clinging on to the plane's radio antenna as Gobinda makes several swipes at him with his knife. At this point, Bond has a masterstroke; he bends the antenna, and flicks it into Gobindas face.

Gobinda, like most movie henchmen, is not the sharpest tool in the box, and clutches at his face forgetting that he really needed to be holding something. Subsequently, he is blown off the plane.

A good, if brief, fight, ruined by Gobinda's obvious parachute under his suit as he's falling.

Well what do you expect in an 80s movie? It comes down to either making sure the actor is safe or letting Kabir Bedi fall to his death and get thrown in prison for the sake of making the scene seem more realistic. Take you pick.
