Caleb has just rescued his little sister, Sarah, from the vampires, and is high-tailing it back home when the vampires all pile into a hijacked station wagon and drive in pursuit.

The sun is rising, and Caleb and Sarah are hurrying across the fields as fast as they can. The bumpy terrain is slowing down the station wagon, but not nearly enough, and the vampires inevitably catch up with the pair, and reclaim Sarah.

As the vampires as begin to drive away, Mae, the vampiress whom Caleb had been involved with throughout the movie, chooses her love for Caleb over loyalty to her undead 'family' and decides to take action. Grabbing hold of Sarah, Mae smashes out of the back of the station wagon and runs toward Caleb with his little sister in tow.

Homer, a vampire who appears to be a young child, but has been undead for much longer than that, has become obsessively infatuated with Sarah though, and is not about to let his prize be taken from him. He completely disregards his own survival and common sense and jumps out to give chase, but the rising sun causes smoke to rise from Homer and Mae's bodies.

Caleb rushes toward Mae and Sarah and removes his jacket to cover his undead girlfriend from the sun. Homer is not as lucky, and his daytime sprint suddenly causes his body to burst into flames. Finally, it is too much for the child-vampire to take as he collapses to the ground about ten feet away from his object of obsession. With one last cry of her name, Homer's skin burns off completely and he explodes in a massive ball of flame.
