During a struggle against Lt. Frank Drebin, Hapsburg falls out of an apartment window and plummets towards the concrete. He is spared the indignity of a clichéd "falling" death when his fall is miraculously broken by a fruit stand's canvas canopy.
Unhurt, he stands up, adjusts his tie and begins to defiantly stroll away. It wouldn’t be Hollywood though if the bad guy got away and so, before he has taken his third step, a huge lion appears from nowhere and leaps onto Hapsburg, mauling him to death.
Surprising, ingenious and most of all - Hilarious.
The lion was one of the animals accidentally released from the Washington Zoo by Frank earlier when he'd broken down one of the fences with a battering ram. Either way, the sheer randomness of the death was indeed priceless, I was laughing my head off when I saw it.
