Note to anyone intending to Indiana Jones' route: Try not to piss off too many immortals. You'd thought Rick had learnt this with his first fight with Imhotep, but obviously not!

We first see The Scorpion King fighting a load of people thousands of years ago. Ardeth's narration tells us he was defeated and after walking across the desert, he gave his soul to Anubis for an army. Not a wise choice. Anubis takes The Scorpion King's soul after he gets burnt by a rouge flame, ripping The Scropion King's soul from his body. So much for The Rock's appearance, then.

Later on in the film, The Scorpion King is resurrected via the power of his bracelet, and he's not pleased. But then again, I wouldn't be if I was a bad CGI monster that ILM should be ashamed of.

Now he's in a three-way duel between himself, Rick and Imhotep. Imhotep wants to use the Scorpion King's army to rule to world, Rick wants to stop Imhotep and as for the Scopion King... Um... Maybe he wants to kill them for disturbing his sleep?

Anyway, Imhotep quickly makes a pact with the Scorpion King to help kill Rick (All the while planning to betray the Scorpion King and take his army). As the fight continues, Rick discovers that strange object Jonathan has been carrying around for most of the film is a special spear to kill The Scorpion King with (which is handy!), along with his huge army who are currently facing off against Ardeth's army.

Soon enough Jonathan and Rick's son Alex are getting to ringside seats to this duel, spear in hand. Rick continues to fight the King, while trying to get Jon to turn the object to turn into a spear.

Eventually, Jon turns the object into a spear and tries to throw it at the King (under his sister's advice, who has also joined the crowd at ringside), but Imhotep grabs it in mid air and takes aim at the Scorpion King. Rick grabs it before it makes contact with the King in a Matrix-style slow-mo.

And so begins a short chase as the angered King runs after Rick. This ends with Rick tripping and landing inches away from falling into a pit of souls as the King lands on top of him, impaling himself on the spear. Imhotep suddenly runs into view (where has he been these last few moments?) and campily cries "NOOOOO!"

Rick lets in a few words, before the King writhes in agony, exploding into a mass of scorpions. And this time, he's out for the count.

This is 90% of the write-up I gave you, and that's great, because I had a real ball with the write-up. (I particularly like the "why is the Scorpion King fighting?" bit).

I did spot you removed some catergories, but that's OK, as some were for his 'death' at the start.

Oh, and those spoilers are not so hidden on the write-up page...

Whoops! Heh, I hope I didn't ruin that for anyone who didn't want to see, it was brilliant! Just not all that unique.

while trying to get Jon to turn the object to turn into a spear.
...Mmkayy?

The object looks like a gold trophy (hence why Jon was carrying it), but if you twist the top, the sharp end pops out.

Doesn't it have an actual name in the movie? The Spear of Osiris or something?
Comment 7 by 'Matt' (reply to this comment)
That might be it. I'll have to watch the flick again (not too hard, as I own it).

Remove Monster, as he was not killed by one. Magic could replace it, as the spear does have supernatural properties (like killing large, crappy CGI monsters). Vanishing Corpse is another, as his body disappears after the explosion.

i dont think vanishing corpse sums up what happens, he dissolves into a swarm of scorpions.

Vanishing corpse is when at the end of a film the character is death, but then disappears to leave the audience thinking "is he really dead?" - this is best summed up with Michael Myers in Halloween, where he is categorically killed, but when the doctor goes to look out the window, the corpse is missing....

Yep. I just watched the film. That would be it's name. The write-up can be updated, if MB wishes.

Can we change the actor name to Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, particularly as I know Briggs prefers his real names and that's what the actor refers to himself nowadays.
