This nameless criminal appears early on in the film, setting an animal trap in the woods when he runs into Kharis, the Mummy. He survives this encounter because he is not Kharis' intended target.

Later on though, for reasons left completely unexplained, the poacher has been deputized by Inspector Mulrooney to guard John Banning's house, during which time our friend the poacher proves to be utterly useless more intent on swigging booze while on duty rather than guarding the house. Nice to know Mulrooney had such faith in him.

Anyway, the poacher sees Kharis coming and turns to run, only to run smack dab into Kharis' controller, Mehemet Bey (q.v.). Mehemet has a knife and, unlike Kharis, is not limited to killing people who are his intended target. The poacher turns to run but Mehemet tackles him from behind and drives a knife into his back, ending his life.
