P.C. Blake is the local police constable in the town of Engerfield, England, who takes orders from Inspector Mulrooney.

On the night of the second attempt John Banning's life by Kharis the Mummy, Mulrooney instructs Blake to guard the rear of the Banning residence. Blake was ready for the Mummy, but not his keeper, the ruthless Mehemet Bey(q.v.). Mehemet creeps up on Blake, who is shuffling about in an effort to keep himself warm in the cold, and drives a knife into the policeman's back, killing him, and clearing the way for Kharis.
