After escaping from Doc (q.v.), Logan 5 and Jessica 6 find the underground exit to the domed city.
To escape, they must pass through the dominion of Box, a servo-mechanism in charge of food storage before the Computer took over the city.
This is a problem, as poor old Box has gone completely robo-insane since his deliveries and orders stopped arriving.
This is first hinted at when he sounds somewhat sad when he recounts his halcyon days of grocery management, which he says involved "Fish. And plankton. And sea greens. And protein. From the sea."
Since then, he has whiled away the years by carving ice seagulls and penguins, which, he assures Logan and Jessica, sing to him at night.

"I am more than machine or man. More than a fusion of the two. Don't you agree?"
Er no, you are a cheap looking android on wheels, made with tinfoil and ventilation tubing.

Unfortunately, Box's dementia has more consequences than innocent ice sculpture. It soon becomes apparent that any runner that has managed to escape the main city has been apprehended by the crazed android and he has dealt with them according to "Regular Storage Procedure". In practical terms, this means he has frozen them as if they were a food delivery.

Box offers refreshments in the form of frozen runner beings, and breaks out some intimidating weaponry when they refuse.

Logan and Jessica are somewhat disheartened when they are shown this small army of human popsicles, but don't seem to grasp their predicament until Box brandishes a gun and poking device and starts laughing like a lunatic. Finally realising they are also going to be given the "sea greens" treatment, Logan springs into action, firing the famous "Logan's Run" gun and then manfully grappling the automaton.
During this excitement, a stray shot brings down the ceiling, and Box is too traumatised over the loss of his ice birds to escape.

'Robot Wars' meets 'Come Dancing' in this experimental fusion of TV gameshows.
