One of my faves!! Having blown up the poppy fields and ruined this year's heroin shipment, Bond has been captured with his bit of fluff and both are placed in an overly elaborate death trap.

Bond is about to be slowly lowered into a pool of man eating sharks, which have already been given a taste of his blood, when he manages to free himself and square up to Kananga. The scuffling pair fall in to the water. Bond, quick thinking as ever, manages to insert a rather large shark bullet in Kananga's mouth, and make him swallow it.

Bond then hot tails it out of the water to avoid the sharks. Just as the sharks are about to devour Kananga the bullet detonates and he inflates, floats out of the water (all the while inflating like some strange balloon), until his skin reaches its maximum elasticity and he "pops".

Kananga has an inflated opinion of himself

if Kananga/Mr. Big had lived the entire USA drugs market would have been flooded with free heroin.

It think the death of Kananga is one of the most unique and ingenious in the series. Despite the fact that the special effects pale by todays standards, I just love to think what must have been running through Kananga's mind in those last few seconds. Only a minute earlier he had Band tied up and ready to kill and now Kanaga has to desperatelly and futilly try to escape being blown up like a balloon.
Can you imagine what Kananga must have felt, to have all his skin stretched to the point of breaking, being unable to move from the acumulated presure of becoming a human blimp, while flying to his doom in the celing above? I think this is one of the most dramatic revesals and just recompences in the whole series.

it wa really funny tho when i saw im inflate i propa laughed whie he wa inflating beacuse u could see im strching into a massive inflating balloon it wa just the best and relaly really funny

why can't he just open his mouth and let the air out?

Comment 5 by 'Eno' (reply to this comment)
He probably can't for the same reason we can't just do that if we had indigestion. Unless he can burp at a rate faster than the gas filling him, I'd say he'd be screwed even if his mouth was open.

Then again, the fact he stretches so large and bursts in such a non-gory, cartoony way isn't really going by regular physics or logic, so who knows? And doesn't he get much bigger than shown in that pic?
Comment 6 by 'Eno' (reply to this comment)
Also, shouldn't this perhaps be put under "Pressure"? I'm sure he was feeling a lot of pressure before he burst...
Comment 7 by 'Cthulu' (reply to this comment)
Yeah, this deffinatelly should also be under "pressure"
also I was able to find an online film clip of the entire scene at:

wonder y there wasn't any blood or bone fragments flying when he exploded?
Comment 9 by 'Mr. Briggs Incorporated' (reply to this comment)
The "Death Trap" was meant for Bond, and had nothing to do with how Kananga was killed.

What about "Food and Drink"? The category states that the death has to do with eating or drinking and Kananga swallowed the bullet

lol when he blows up watching that vid he looks like a massive over inflated black air bed hahahha so funny at the end and when he blows that sofa up when that guys on it lol and he goes backwards can someone plz post the vid for that to
Comment 11 by 'logic man' (reply to this comment)
so then why can't the guy just spit the pellet out how the hell could he swallow if your out of breath underwater you cant swallow a bullet that big.... for 1 it wud get stuck and for 2 it wudnt go down he could of easily just spat the thing out.... nothing was stopping him from opening his mouth and spitting it out simple durrr what a perthetic video.

It probably jet propelled itself down his throaght, or was pushed in through water-pressure. I could be wrong, I'm no scientist. :shifty:
if Kananga/Mr. Big had lived the entire USA drugs market would have been flooded with free heroin.
No, Felix and Quarrell had already destroyed the heroin.
