Riggs and Murtaugh have just managed to break free of the torture chamber McAllister has set up (which rather ironically is in the back of some god awful nightclub) and have killed a whole swathe of cronies. McAllister, like all good generals, decides to hot tail it out of there when it looks like things are taking a turn for the worse.
He gets in a car and is driving out of an alley, when Murtaugh appears at the other end. McAllister orders his driver to run Murtaugh down. Murtaugh, after doing some ridiculous Neck-robics (not to be confused with necrobics - exercises for the dead) takes aim and shoots the driver. The out of control car swerves violently and Murtaugh ducks around the corner to avoid getting hit.
The car shoots out of the alley and comes to an abrupt halt when it hits a passing bus, coming to a rest on its roof in the middle of the road. McAllister is still alive, but is trapped inside the car, which is filled with an unnecessary amount of explosives. Inevitably these detonate and McAllister is killed.
What of "Crushed" or maybe "Not Quite Dead"?
I dunno about Crushed. All that happens is the car overturns after being hit by a bus. I don't remember McAllister being crushed. Not Quite Dead might apply, since he survives the crash albeit (apparently) mortally wounded.
He's not mortally wounded. He tries to get out of the car when it's overturned, but it goes KABOOM before he gets out.
Actually he never tries to get out; he just sits there and desperately albeit weakly tries to reach for the grenades.
and throw them back at Roger Murtaugh?
No, to prevent his own death. I forget if it was because flames got too close to the grenades, or whether one of the grenades' pins came loose, but the trapped McAllister was trying to reach the grenades before they detonated.
I'll have to check with the DC DVD when I take some pictures.
