Leon (q.v.) has just been shot in the head by corrupt cop Stansfield.
However, Leon has the final word. In his dying moments he hands something to Stansfield and says "This is from Matilda." Stansfield watches Leon and opens his palm to discover a grenade pin.
Looking back at Leon, Stansfield discovers the hitman has strapped himself with a dozen or so hot grenades. The resulting explosion is a clear example that revenge is a dish best served cold.
Mouseburger says: The US title of the film Leon is "The Professional".
Wait, would self-sacrifice be for Stansfield or Leon? Stansfield didn't want to be sacrificed! Also, explosion would kind of be for Leon too, we don't know that he's dead before or after the explosion.
Since I didn't get confirmation of denial on my suggestion, I thought I would bump this back up just in case. See also Boris Grishenko.
Thanks!
Self-Sacrifice obviously applies to Leon and not Stansfield, I'll update the entry.

Shouldn't mexican standoff be here as well as on Leon's death ?
No. First Leon's back was turned and next he was dying on the ground, Stanfield was pretty safe throughout the ordeal, at least he thought he was.
This death says, and I quote, "revenge is a death best served cold". Revenge is a category, put it here.
