The movie is called "The Professional" you fool.
No, it is called "Leon" in the UK, but it is also known as "The Professional".

Sorry, but Dr. Doom has yet to graduate evil medical school, but the point is, I posted earlier to remove self-sacrifice from Stansfield, but it should appear on Leon as well as explosion, am I correct?
I didn't even realise Leon had been added yet - Mouseburger is very hard working!
I will update the death.
OB
I didn't think he was shot in the head, so I guess now I have an excuse to watch it again.
Definitely Explosion.
Indeed, though I can predict the main reason that it isn't is that he might have been dead before the explosion.
I thought the films name was "Léon - The Professional"???
That's what I call it, both names in one reasonable one.
NOTE: There are a few spoilers here.
I don't think he was shot in the head. Think about it - Stansfield said he was dying to meet the Italian hitman, so why would he kill him first? Stansfield more than likely shot him in the back, severely wounding him and causing him to fall.
The most ambiguous moment is the few moments after Leon places the grenade pin in Stansfield's hand. It could be said that immediately thereafter he died of the wound. However, it is much more likely the explosion killed him. This is because it takes (I'm assuming) a little longer to die from a wound.
My bet: The explosion killed him outright.
