Benedict is a hitman on the payroll of Tony Vivaldi, a mob boss in the movie JACK SLATER IV. Benedict discovers the magical ticket that allows crossing between the film world and the real world, when searching the wallet which he had taken earlier from Danny Madigan, a young boy who crossed over from the real world.
Crossing over himself, he plans to kill Arnold Schwarzenegger, the actor who plays Jack Slater, his chief foe, in the hopes that it will take out Slater as well. Jack and Danny rush to prevent Arnold from being killed by Benedict at the premiere of JACK SLATER IV. Jack is forced to fight the Ripper, another baddie from the film world, on the roof of the theatre, and during this fight, Jack has to rescue Danny from falling. As he does so though, he is ambushed by Benedict. Having finally got Jack where he wants him, Benedict instead of shooting the hero dead immediately decides to go on this immortal tirade:
"Gentlemen, since you are about to die anyway, I may as well tell you the entire plot. Think of villains Jack. You want Dracula? Dra-cool-la? Hang on [takes out the ticket], I'll fetch him. Dracula? Huh. I can get King Kong! We will have a nightmare with Freddy Krueger, and we will have a surprise party for Adolf Hitler. Hannibal Lecter can do the catering, and then we will have a christening for Rosemary's Baby! All I have to do is snap my fingers and they will be here. They are lining up to get here, and do you know why Jack? Should I tell you why? Hmm? Because here, in this world, the bad guys can win!"
During this tirade, he has been firing his gun at Jack, and when the chamber clicks empty Jack takes a moment to gloat: "Boy, did you make a movie mistake. You forgot to reload the damn gun!" Benedict smugly replies "No, Jack. I left only one chamber empty." And with that, Benedict shoots Jack.
Jack is vulnerable in the real world, and so he is shot. At this, Danny angrily runs towards Benedict, but is shoved aside. He fakes having a broken arm to trick Benedict into thinking he is no longer a threat, which is something Benedict all too readily accepts. Benedict casually reloads the gun, saying "You see, Jack, bad guys can win." Danny suddenly rushes into Benedict again, and this time does catch Benedict off-guard. The gun flies out of Benedict's hands and Danny grabs it. Quick as a flash, Danny tosses the gun to Jack, and Jack aims for Benedict's glass eye, which, we discover earlier in the film, conceals an explosive. Jack says to Benedict "No sequel for you" before he shoots Benedict in the glass eye, blowing him to bits.
If he shoots him in the glass eye, doesn't that count as a Head Shot instead of Shot?
I second, but I guess since the bullet went up in flames before it damaged any biological part of him, I can see where this may theoretically be a regular "Shot"
You know, I suspect that this would have become a minor film classic had Slater and Danny actually died, then Benedict got caught by the police like it would have been in real life.
