Many years ago, Lyssa used to be the lover of Ynyr (q.v.), but he left her, claiming "duties" and "responsibilities". In other words, Ynyr obviously felt the relationship was getting a bit heavy and decided to skedaddle.
Unbenownst to him though, Lyssa was pregnant, and she was so twisted by his departure that when their son was born, she murdered him. For this crime she was sentenced to become the Widow of the Web, imprisoned in the centre of a web guarded by a monstrous spider.
Ynyr needs her help though, to save a girl also named Lyssa, and also in love.
This moves Lyssa (senior) and once she realises that Ynyr forgives her she is freed to sacrifice her life to save another.
She smashes her hourglass, buying Ynyr precious moments to escape the web, and once he leaves her living chamber is destroyed by the spider.

Lyssa may be a wizened old crone now, but she was a bit of a looker in her day.


The spider uses cheap special effects to punish Lyssa.
