Garcia is a member of the Petrox Explorer's crew, and one of the four sailors who accompanies Jack Prescott and Carnahan (q.v.) on their mission to rescue Dwan from the giant gorilla, Kong. Garcia meets his end when the group encounters Kong whilst crossing a log bridge over a canyon, and the men shoot at him.

When Kong retaliates by grabbing the log and rolling it back and forth, Garcia is the first to fall off, when he loses his balance and falls down into the canyon.
