An invisible presence in the first of the Kill Bill films, Bill - an elite martial artist and the leader of 'The Deadly Viper Assassination Squad' - is at last confronted by Beatrix Kiddo in his Seaside estate.

Kiddo has killed her way through the members of her former team, and now all that remains is to kill Bill, her former lover who, with the Deadly Vipers, once stormed Kiddo's secret wedding, killing Kiddo's groom and family, shooting Kiddo in the head, and (so Kiddo believes) killing Kiddo's unborn child.

Having dispatched Bill's henchmen and women, Kiddo finally confronts Bill, only to discover her child is still alive, and loves her father. Bill reminds Kiddo of her own violent ways, and the fact that love and violence are far from exclusive. Kiddo, who has heretofore operated as a machine-like instrument of vengeance, is shaken but ultimately undeterred.

After a brief sword fight, Kiddo taps Bill in the center of his chest, using a secret "five-point-palm exploding heart technique" that was taught to Kiddo (and not to Bill, or anyone else) by the great Kung-fu master, Pi Mei. Bill understands the significance of this move and that he will meet his death from an exploding heart once he takes five steps from where he stands.

"Well," he smiles, "How do I look?" "You look . . . ready." Kiddo tells him. As Kiddo cries just a little, Bill steps into the darkness of his backyard and collapses - Kiddo's vengeance collected at last.

What about suicide? After all, Bill did take his own life by knowingly taking 5 steps, he could have just waited forever standing there (eating, sleeping on that very spot) The Bride may have killed him anyway but he didn't HAVE to take those 5.

I think Bill took the 5 steps because if he hadn't, Kiddo would have made the death a lot more painful.

So your heart exploding isn't painful?

This is a woman who can rip your eyeball out at will. I'm sure she could conceive something far more horrible than a relatively brief myocardial explosion. And if anyone would know what kinds of things she would come up with, it would be Bill.

Now that the site has a "Heart Attack" category, would this death fit into it?

Even though the ending of this movie is supposed to be really touching and developed about the lives of these two people, I can't help but feel creeped by this.

Is anyone else creeped out by the fact that a old, crusty, liver-spotted, gray-haired, greasy man like Bill actually gave a baby to Beatrix? There's like a 20-year age difference there, it's really creepy!

No Bill is Kiddo's father. And the child's father is the one that's she going to marry but now is dead. She did not expect that her baby was alive so Bill (Kiddo's father) took care of her instead. Get it now?

No, he's not. Bill was Kiddo's LOVER & B.B.'s father, not the El Paso man she almost married. When Kiddo discovered she was pregnant, she immediately left her old life behind to give her child a clean slate in life. If that meant she had to make Bill believe that she was dead in order to achieve that (& without him knowing that he even fathered a child), the so be it. As for Tommy, she probably met him very early on in her pregnancy and lied to him stating that HE was the father. They probably wanted to marry before the child was born so that she wouldn't be seen as a bastard. Tommy has no blood relation to B.B.. Had Bill never found Kiddo, Tommy would've raised another man's child & he would've never known that B.B. wasn't really his.
